For many years Los Alamos Family Council has received annual support from the Con Alma Health Foundation (Con Alma) and the Northern New Mexico Health Grants Group to directly reduce the cost of services for clients.
The Northern New Mexico Health Grants Group was established in May 2002 with the sale of the Los Alamos Medical Center. This fund, managed by Con Alma Health Foundation, is used to support organizations providing for the unmet health needs of the residents of Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, and northern Santa Fe counties.
Los Alamos Family Council uses the grants from Con Alma to directly cover the some or all of the costs of services for clients in need. LAFC focuses the use of these funds on three primary areas: substance abuse, domestic violence, and suicide ideation.
