Alcohol and Substance Abuse
We offer individual, group and intensive out patient therapy for adults with alcohol and/or substance abuse disorders. Ancillary individual, couples and family therapy are available as well as aftercare and relapse prevention. The IOTP Program is a 90-hour program with focus on emotional regulation, substance abuse education and relapse prevention. We use the Matrix Model materials.
Court Ordered Assessments and Evaluations
LAFC does court ordered alcohol and substance assessments as well as most other court required assessments including domestic violence and sexual offenders.
DWI School
LAFC is the only licensed DWI school in Los Alamos County. State approved sessions are offered quarterly.
Individual, Group and Family Counseling
Counseling is available for adults, adolescents, children and families for a full range of mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. All of our therapists encourage family-centered therapy if the client is willing.
Domestic Violence
Therapy in the areas of family and domestic violence is available for victims, perpetrators and family members. LAFC is an approved CYFD DV male offenders treatment program. The group program is currently inactive but individual therapy for perpetrators and victims is available.
Sexual Assault/Trauma/PTSD
Resources from the Department of Health, Santa Fe Rape Crisis Center and the Espanola Crisis Center support our individual and group therapy.
Case Management/Medication Management and Psychiatry
Los Alamos Family Council does not directly provide these services but refers eligible clients to Presbyterian Medical Services (PMS) with whom we have worked closely for years.
